At the Sam Wanamaker indoor theatre – not to mention two plays – “Dark Night of the Soul” and “After Edward” – which are responses to the Marlowe plays.

Hurrah! Perhaps a long awaited bit of recognition for our other major playwright (it would be great if they followed this up with some more Marlowe next season!)

Thanks for highlighting these productions and fingers crossed they will follow them up with more Marlowe plays before too long. In my view there are not enough productions of Marlowe around the country and I would welcome a touring company visiting some of our major cities to bring his plays to those living well outside London. Therefore, any news of such a venture would be very welcome.

    Agreed.

In fact, to say we have 400 years of drama to choose from, it’s quite disheartening how little of it not written within the last 50 years is produced.

I appreciate theatres are looking for “bums on seats”, but you’d think there was room for a little bit of niche as well…
